These three rituals are for purifying negative deeds – such as being disrespectful of the Dharma, neglecting one’s vows and spiritual commitments, or polluting the environment – and for invoking the enlightening influence of three protectors of the Dharma: Mahakala, Palden Lhamo, and the Naga King.
