Since its founding in 2000 by Venerable Thupten Donyo, the Gyuto Vajrayana Center has provided the teachings of the Buddha and the Tibetan Buddhism practices at their beautiful Center and monastery located in San Jose, California.

To preserve the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the Center invites highly qualified teachers to the San Francisco Bay Area and provides teachings on Sutra and Tantra. In 2007, the Center had the great honor of hosting His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama in the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to teachings, the Center organizes initiations, empowerments, prayer ceremonies, funeral services, house blessings and purifications to the Tibetan Buddhist community in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area. We reach out not only to the different schools of Tibetan Buddhism but to Buddhist practitioners of every nationality as well. We also host non-sectarian activities for students of local universities and Boy Scout troops. In short, our goal is to reach out to the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay Area communities in need.
